On Dec. 9, I AM Books will partner with the Italian American Writers Association for its bi-monthly literary reading and open mic. Open Mic (sign ups at 5:45) followed by Featured Readers:


Laurette Folk‘s fiction, essays, and poems have been published in upstreet, Literary Mama, Boston Globe Magazine, among others. Her novel, A Portal to Vibrancy, and Totem Beasts, her collection of poetry and flash fiction, were published by Big Table. Ms. Folk is a graduate of the Vermont College MFA in Writing program and editor of The Compassion Anthology.

 
 


Vincent Panella grew up in Queens. Three of his books are a family history subtitled Growing up Italian in America, a novel Cutter’s Island, based on a little known event in the life of Julius Caesar, and Lost Hearts, a collection of short stories critics call essential reading for Italian Americans.

Julia Lisella’s poetry collections include Always (2014), Terrain (2007) and Love Song Hiroshima (2004), a chapbook. Her poems appear in such journals as Alaska Quarterly Review, Ocean State Review, Valparaiso, VIA: Voices in Italian Americana, and elsewhere. She is associate professor of English at Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts.
